Jesus Meets Blind Bartimaeus – Mark 10

Jesus Meets Blind Bartimaeus – Mark 10

At a time when Jesus was walking with his disciples to Jerusalem, they were talking about who would have a place of importance sitting by the Lord Jesus in his glory. And Jesus told them that whoever of them would be the most important, would be a servant to all. Jesus said “for even the Son of man (who is the Lord Jesus) came not to be served, but to be a servant, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

And they continued walking along and came to Jericho, and as Jesus went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people,  a man called blind Bartimaus, the son of  Timaeus, sat by the side of the highway begging.

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me.” And many told him that he should be quiet, but he cried out more and more, “son of David, have mercy on me!”

And Jesus stood still, and ordered that Bartimaeus be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him “Be comforted, rise; he calls you.” And Bartimaeus, throwing aside his garment, rose and came to Jesus.”

Jesus said to him “What would you have me do to you?” Bartimaeus said to him “Lord, that I might receive my sight.”   And Jesus said to him “Go your way; your faith has made you whole.” And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus.”

Memory Verse: Mark 10:52 “And Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way; your faith has made you whole.'”
