Bible Story Craft – Joseph and His Brothers

Bible Story Craft for Joseph and His Brothers

For this craft you will need:

1. For the sack, brown construction paper or brown felt pen, crayon or paint. For the food inside, yellow felt pen, crayon or paint.

2. For the silver cup, grey construction paper, or grey or silver felt pen, crayon or paint.

Instructions:

1. Cut out the sack, trace on brown construction paper, or color the sack brown. Color the top yellow for the food inside the sack.

Explain how during the famine, Joseph’s brothers came to him for food and how they did not know who he was. Explain how Joseph sent them home with food and with the money they brought to pay for the food. Explain how he told them to bring back Benjamin with them when they came again.

2. Cut out the cup, trace it onto grey construction paper, or color it silver with felt pen, crayon or paint.

Take the sack, slit a hole in the top and insert the silver cup into the hole.

Explain to the children how Joseph had the silver cup put into Benjamin’s sack and how Joseph used this to get his brothers to beg for Benjamin’s life, and to promise to bring their father to him. Explain how Joseph finally told his brothers who he was, and how God had delivered him when they had sold him.
